Prayer Etiquette

How desperate are my prayers? Are they ritualistic, mundane, filled with hopeless rhetoric and christianese? Do my prayers flow with sincerity and matchless faith? Why do I yawn in prayer mode? Do I need to close my eyes? Should I kneel, sit or stand? Oh, to be human. Does praying in tongues truly exist? Do my prayers need to be audible?
What exactly is prayer? How do we "get a prayer through to God? I've read countless articles, devotions and teachings and one certainty remains consistent in my prayer life; the mediator. Jesus Christ is my "go to Savior." It is only in and through the name of Jesus that I can trust my request, and petitions are received beyond the veil and to the mercy seat of God.
The throne of grace has become my prayers destination. My quiet time with my heavenly father has become more intimate and trusting as I unload my fears and doubt and plead my cause. God is the most patient listener and friend I've ever experienced.

Ecclesiastes 1:5 KJV
The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose
