Mama Said

Once long ago in a time when women of color stressed dignity and God, a woman much like the woman who delivered her baby into this chaotic life, made a decision which nurtures (my) womanhood and breathes life into my hardships.

Women make choices throughout life which catapult curses or blessings. A mother's choice ultimately offers comfort or disdain if her womanhood lacks compassion and love for her baby's future. If a mother feels trapped, unsure or threatened by choosing to carry her child full term, in most cases rape, incest, refusal to accept the terms of single motherhood, or selfishness, abortion or abuse are inevitable. However, if adoption settles in a mother's heart as the best option for her child then heaven dispenses mercy and grace for her to endure the separation. Albeit the child may experience a good upbringing or endure dysfunctional family life, adulthood promises life more abundantly if lived appreciative of a mother's choice.

My mama said much in her last years on this earth concerning how she raised me for eighteen years. There were so many fond memories growing up, and just as many unexplained disturbances I've long ago forgotten and forgiven. My journey as of today, exudes many lessons learned, and many more to learn. My mama said and shared so much wisdom which nurtured and refined my womanhood. Though I was not blessed to endure motherhood, I appreciate the willingness to become the mother I never met; a caring woman💞
