Last fall a TED talk entitled "Everything You Think You Know About Addiction Is Wrong" opened my eyes to some things that had been right in front of me all along. Then I saw the place where Deuteronomy 30:19-20 fit in perfectly. I just LOVE it when the Lord's Word is vindicated by current developments.
Anyway, this line of exploration has been opening eyes at the Mission where I teach addiction recovery to men in a yearlong program. Perhaps you have had your own recovery issues; perhaps you know people struggling to get free of an addiction or some other compulsion. Either way I hope this message really blesses you with fresh insights and a deeper understanding.
AA calls alcoholism a "cunning and baffling" disease. I believe this will help you penetrate the mystery further and give you insights that will help you help others. And that's the name of the game! Don't you just love giving the devil a black eye by helping someone get their freedom?
